I think what stood out to me in this proverb is the fact that it is never too late to change. When you notice you are doing something wrong, then stop right then. You may have made a mess of things by what you have already done, but you can stop it from getting any worse. Don't let pride get in the way of admitting your mistakes; confess your wrongdoing and stop doing it. We can't change the past, but we can change the future.
