Change Begins with Us

Joel 2:12-13 KJV
12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

There is much evil in our world today. There is much unrest and division in the USA. There are many people calling for change.

Change IS needed; however, people are looking elsewhere for change. Change needs to begin in our own hearts!

Each individual person needs to start with themselves. When people are right with God and strong in faith, then we will have strong marriages and families. When we have strong marriages and families, we will have strong communities. When we have strong communities, we will have strong counties. With strong counties, we will have strong states. And then, with strong states, we can have a strong nation.

It all begins with us! Turn to God. Seek Him. Check you heart!

Being Pruned

John 15:2
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

God will remove anyone or anything that is not fruitful for Him. You may be growing some fruit, but may also be growing out and not being fully useful. He will prune back to where you were/are fruitful.

I desire to be fully fruitful for Him, but I haven't felt very fruitful lately. I feel like I will have some pruning coming. May I embrace it and accept it and not fight it.

I wrote the above a few of weeks ago in my personal journal. I just finished up week 3 of our Bible Bee study on the book of James. The book of James is the book that brought me to salvation (even though I had grown up in the church, it wasn't until college when I fully gave my life to Him) and it is doing a work on me now. I am being convicted every day about how I am truly walking my talk. May He continue to prune me!

Change

I read this quote on a friend's facebook page the other day. I can't stop thinking about it.
