Call on Jesus -Nicole Mullen Lyrics

I know a few people who are going through tough times right now and I want to remind them, and others, to call on Jesus.

Judge?

Matthew 7:1-5 KJV
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

This is a commonly quoted scripture among Christians and non-Christians alike. It is far easier to see sin in someone else's life than in our own. This is why Jesus tells us that before we speak to another person about the sin in their life, we need to examine ourselves first.

While many people will use this scripture to say that we should never say anything against another person's choices, that is not the case either. We are called to love one another and sometimes that means calling out sin in another person's life so they can come back into right fellowship with Christ. The difference is in how it is handled and whether we are in a right fellowship with Christ ourselves.

Worry

Matthew 6:25-34 KJV
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Worry.

We all do it, but we shouldn't. God tells us that He will take care of us and our needs (needs-not wants). Worry doesn't help us with our needs. Worry doesn't add anything good to our lives. In fact, worry only takes away.

If we truly trust God, then we should not worry as unbelievers do. He knows what we need and when we need it. As long as we are seeking Him and His will, our needs will be supplied. Let's not add any grief to our day today by worrying about what may or may not happen tomorrow. Trust in Him and He will supply!

Knowing You (All I Once Held Dear)

We sang this song last night at church and I was focusing on the words as I sang and, wow! Even though we have sung this many times, it hit me last night.

A Case for Faith and Broken Cisterns

Due to the internet issues I was dealing with last week, I wasn't able to get the sermon uploaded so here it is along with this week's sermon. Unfortunately, the audio isn't the greatest on this week's sermon due to wind from the windows being open. I will need to figure out a new way to record the sermons to minimize or avoid the wind noise.

You Can't Serve Two Masters

Matthew 6:24 KJV
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Many people believe they can make everyone happy. They can attend church on Sunday and partially live by biblical standards and they can live how the worlds says the rest of the time. However, there is no way to be truly successful doing that. If someone tries to do that, they will encounter many times when they will have to choose one way over the other; thereby choosing their true loyalty.

Throw Back Thursday

My heart has been grieving lately at the number of marriages that are ending or on the road to ending. It is a reminder that we can never stop praying for marriage!
