Words of Wisdom Wednesday

Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

I have spoken about accountability partners often in the past. Accountability partners are biblical! We need people in our lives who will tell us what we need to hear and who are open to hear from us what they need. We need to be open to helping others with their walk in this world.

What is in Your Cup?

I've read this before, but I needed to be reminded of it again today. Maybe someone else does, too.

You are holding a cup of coffee  when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere.
Why did you spill the coffee? ðŸ¤”
"Well because someone bumped into me, of course!"
Wrong answer.
You spilled the coffee because there was COFFEE in your cup.
Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled TEA.
*Whatever is inside the cup, is what will spill out.*
Matthew 15:11 says, "It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”
Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled.
*So we have to ask ourselves... “what's in my cup?"
When life gets tough, what spills over?
Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility?
Or anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions?
You choose!
Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation, kindness, gentleness and love for others.

Words of Wisdom Wednesdays

Proverbs 26:18-19 KJV

18 As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death, 19 So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?

I still remember the first time I read these verses. I was convicted! How many times had I said something to someone and then said, "Just joking!"? Ever time I did that, I was acting like a mad man! Truth is always supposed to be on our lips and if we say something with the intent of saying, "Just joking," them we are lying in the first place. Be truthful always and don't be like a mad man.
