All Things Common

Acts 2:43-47
And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

I believe this section of scripture provides a good description of how a church should truly be.

The word 'fear' means to be in awe of God. As Christians we should not be scared of God, but should have respect for how great He is.

The church was unified. Not only did they worship together, but they "had all things common." They were "with one accord."

They cared for one another. If someone else was in need, they shared of what they had.

They fellowshipped together. They were together in the temple and they ate meals together.

The church should be disciplining, caring, evangelizing and serving.

Can we become the church modeled in Acts?
