Refraining Lips

Proverbs 10:12  Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
Proverbs 10: 19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

I sometimes find my children in a yelling match with each other. They all think they need to have the last word or if one says something to the other, they have to respond (even though it is about something silly).

I have told them that sometimes it is just better to bite your tongue and walk away or not even refute something.

Many times our tongue/our words get us in trouble. WE will either speak without thinking or won't know when to shut up. The wise know when it is just better to keep words to a minimum or not speak at all. Many arguments could be avoided if we would just show some love and keep our mouths shut.
