Proverbs 10:4
He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
God created man to work. When we are diligent to do what God created us to do, He blesses us. When we are lazy and try to avoid work, then we suffer the consequences and miss the blessings. This is not some formula for money or a get rich quick scheme. Being obedient is the desired outcome.
