Leviticus 19:17
Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
This scripture goes along with yesterday's post--if you love, you WILL rebuke.
Many people say it isn't up to us to judge others, but God does tell us to judge righteously.
Leviticus 19:15
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
If we truly love our neighbor as ourselves . . .
Matthew 22:39
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
. . . then we will desire them to be in a right relationship with the Lord. There may be occasion for us to approach someone and rebuke their behavior. The important thing to remember is to rebuke with love and make sure it is in line with God's commands (righteous judgement).
If we allow our neighbor to continue in sin because we fear insulting them, then do we truly love them?
